"I would rate my communication skills an 8/10. I am an effective communicator, but there is always room for improvement. I lead a remote team and excel in this area through my verbal conversations with employees and my follow-up in written email communication.
I actively listen to my team members and am fully present in our meetings, never multi-tasking. I ask questions to clarify when I don't understand something and repeat back what I hear to confirm."
"I will rate myself an 8 because I value communication, but, like most people, I have things to learn. I ensure clear communication by utilizing multiple methods of delivering messages, and I give ample time for questions before implementing changes."

I would rate my communication skills at 9 out of 10 because I have learned to be an active listener. If my supervisor directs me to do a task, if I don't understand, I would just ask to clarify.

Good! You do well to clearly rate your communication skills, and provide an explanation on where you feel you need to improve. However, the interviewer will also be expecting information on the areas of communication where you excel, to justify your high rating. Support your rating by providing examples of situations where your strong communication skills have led to success in the workplace.
