Think about the qualities you'd like to see on your team that would not reflect negatively on the quality of your team mentality or leadership. Try to look at the situation rather than derogating your team or laying blame on any underperformers.

"A few members of our team have so much potential, but they are risk-averse. They rarely step outside their comfort zone and fall on the introverted side. Now, these qualities do have their merits, yes. I have no interest in changing who they are as a person, but I would like to see them grow towards their potential. It would help them with their personal and professional development, and I want what is best for every member of our team."
