Delta is looking to develop "high-performing and high-potential" employees. So, they'll use what you consider above and beyond as an indicator of the type of job performance they can expect from you. For example, if this is you going above and beyond, what does your work standard look like in contrast? So, when offering an accomplishment or achievement that you are proud of, you'll want the messaging of your answer to suggest that your work standard is you always striving to exceed expectations.

Delta's recruiters suggest you take time before the interview to "review the job description and know your achievements and experiences. Make sure you have a full understanding of the job requirements, including key responsibilities, skills, and expected behaviors. Review the job preview video, if available. Review your past achievements and experiences that demonstrate your past behaviors and skills, and how you'd perform in the job. Have these 'top of mind' for your interview, as it is likely you'll be asked questions about your past behaviors and skills that relate to the job."

One advantage that HireVue offers is the flexibility for candidates to interview anytime, anywhere. This gives you ample time to prepare. Treat being on camera like an in-person interview and present yourself professionally in every way. Dress in appropriate professional attire for the position. Your grooming and attire will be evaluated by the algorithm for neatness and professionalism. HireVue even recommends "you wear exactly what you would for a traditional face-to-face interview. It may feel a little different to put on your Sunday best for your kitchen table, but hey, at least you won't have to get it pressed again after this, right?" Delta recommends you "wear clean, pressed and professional clothing. Consider the way our Flight Attendants dress and use that as inspiration. The uniform represents Delta's corporate image. Personal cleanliness and hygiene must be maintained at all times." As they say in their guidelines, the customer service experience you deliver begins the moment you put on your uniform and report to work.
As a best practice, review Delta's Appearance Requirement Guidelines for how to present yourself in your interview. For example, visible tattoos or visible body piercings are not permitted, contact lenses must be a naturally occurring eye color, braces should be clear or silver, and eyeglasses must be plain, contemporary, or business-like, and not tinted when working indoors.

"When I was in AmeriCorps we assisted several families in rebuilding their homes in a hurricane-devastated area. In that experience, I really got to know the family I was helping and educated them on several services and programs where they could get further assistance. I also trained their sons on several home repair and construction skills, which I had learned along the way. And when our work was finished, and their home was repaired and safe to live in once more, those two boys came up to me and told me they'd landed their first jobs thanks to the skills I had taught them. So for me, for so many reasons, that experience was my greatest accomplishment to date. Any time I can do something good while connecting with people along the way, all while learning about other cultures, I'll be happy."
