QUESTION 5 OF 35

What is the most expensive product or service you have ever sold?

ALSO ASKED IN Tiffany & Co.

As a salesperson, there are plenty of high-end products that you could have sold to your customers. Depending on your target market, you could have sold luxury cars, high-end watches, designer clothing, or exclusive vacation packages. Other options include premium electronics like top-of-the-line laptops, smartphones, and home entertainment systems.

The interviewer wants to see that you are capable and experienced in selling high-end goods. Talk about your best sale, biggest win, or a significant career highlight that excites you. Now is the time to brag about yourself a little bit!

"I have sold luxury products for many years, but I would say the most expensive was a vehicle worth nearly 400K when working at the Aston Martin dealership. That was an incredible day for me! I made the sale by highlighting the vehicle's luxurious interior, sleek design, and powerful engine. I emphasized the car's ability to provide a thrilling driving experience while maintaining a sense of sophistication and class. I also mentioned the exclusivity of owning an Aston Martin, as it symbolizes prestige and status. Ultimately, I conveyed that owning an Aston Martin is not just about having a car, but a lifestyle of luxury and elegance."

"The most expensive product I have ever sold was a 40,000 engagement ring. The couple was looking for something exceptional and willing to invest in a piece that would be cherished for future generations. After showing them our selection of high-end rings, they were immediately drawn to a stunning piece crafted from 18k white gold with a center diamond weighing just over 2 carats. The diamond was perfectly cut for maximum sparkle and brilliance, and the setting was designed to showcase its beauty in the most flattering way possible.

I could tell that the price tag was a concern for them, but I explained that this was a once-in-a-lifetime purchase that symbolized their love and commitment. I also emphasized how we offer financing options to make the purchase more manageable. Throughout the process, I addressed their concerns about the safety and security of such a valuable item. I reassured them that we take every precaution to protect our customers and their purchases.

Ultimately, they decided to go for it and purchase the ring for 40,000. They were thrilled with their choice, and I was happy to have helped make their proposal moment unforgettable. As a salesperson, it's always rewarding to help customers find exactly what they're looking for and make their dreams a reality."

My biggest sale/project was almost 27,000 in two hours. A client hired me to decorate just by looking at pictures from her phone. And two hours later after two bottles of wine" she purchased almost 27,000 worth of merchandise. Also, she hired me to go to her house and put it all together for her.

Marcie's Feedback

Wow! This is a highly impressive example! Can you provide more details? For example, what company did you work for at this time and what exactly was your role? Can you explain where the pictures were located that she looked at? Also, consider giving more details about what happened during those two hours. What kinds of sales techniques did you use to close the deal? Excellent job!
