      What You Need to Know

When an interviewer asks you to tell them something about yourself that they wouldn't know from reading your resume, they are trying to get a sense of who you are beyond your professional experience. They want to get to know you as a person and understand what motivates you. This question allows you to showcase your personality and highlight your interests and hobbies outside of work. Don't be afraid to share something unique about yourself that sets you apart from other candidates.

Remember, the interviewer is looking for someone who is an excellent cultural fit for the company and has the necessary skills and experience for the job. So, be honest and authentic in your response and use it as an opportunity to build a connection with the interviewer.

      2nd Answer Example

"I think it's important for people to know that I value my personal relationships just as much as my professional ones. While I take my work seriously and strive to excel in my career, I also prioritize spending time with my loved ones and nurturing those connections. I believe that a healthy work-life balance is crucial for overall happiness and success, and I make a conscious effort to maintain that balance in my life. While this is important to my personal and professional lives, I would not add this to my resume."

"I am a people pleaser. I love mornings. I am a very positive person. Sometimes I'll wake up thinking about my clients whether I did a great job or not. I love my husband and our pet dog Sofi."

      Marcie's Feedback

Wow! You have provided some interesting tidbits about yourself and your life that will definitely help the interviewer feel like they know you better. Great job! To further strengthen your answer, can you connect any of these tidbits to the role itself? For example, how does being a positive people pleaser benefit you as a salesperson? And can you expand more on waking up in the middle of the night thinking about work? Explain that you have a strong work ethic and that you care deeply about your clients. While the interviewer will likely gather this from what you've said, saying it directly and confidently can't hurt.
