Question 27 of 35

At Chanel we keep a close eye on product performance and sales. Are you accustomed to positions where you are responsible for a particular sales target each week?

The interviewer wants to see if you are accustomed to having weekly sales targets and meeting goals. They want to ensure that you have experience in achieving sales goals and can handle the pressure that goes with it. As Chanel is a luxury brand, your weekly sales goals may be pretty lofty, and the interviewer wants to see that you are the one for the job.

Talk to the interviewer about how your performance has been measured in the past. Perhaps you were monitored on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Highlight some of your sales goals and track record from the past, and discuss how you met or exceeded those goals.

      Anonymous Answer

"Once again, I've hit $100,000 a month in sales and my goal is that if not more. I love to sell and I love to make money."

      Marcie's Feedback

Did you do this once or more than once? Try to show that you regularly hit (or exceed) your sales targets. This will be very important to the interviewer. The language you've used (...my goal is that if not more.) doesn't sound definitive. Consider rephrasing your response like below:
"I've been working for XXX company for the last nine years. During that time, I've hit or surpassed my monthly sales goals every single time. I am immensely proud that I've been able to do this and believe that my success lies in using a consultative sales approach that identifies the customer's need(s) and then shows them how our product can fill that need (or needs). I actively listen to what the customer tells me and then I think quickly and creatively to determine how our products can satisfy them. I look forward to working at Chanel and having the opportunity to exceed my new sales targets."
