Knowing that regulations are continuously changing surrounding direct patient care, billing, and insurance coverage, your interviewer needs to get the sense that you will always do what is necessary to stay up to speed on new changes and information in your line of work. This is your time to elaborate on any of the groups, associations, professional organizations, or networks that you belong to that help you stay informed in your work. Also, be sure to discuss any publications that you read regularly to show your passion for staying educated.

In the legal industry, there are websites and newsletters, trade organizations, bar committees, and other groups that I would make sure I was subscribed to so that I get the emails and information that these groups put out on the latest industry news. As an NP, in order to keep up with the rules/policies, regulations, and healthcare guidelines, I try to keep up with my membership with professional organizations locally and nationally (ANA, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, ETC.). I also have subscriptions and alert set up with those credible health information provider websites (MedMD, Uptodate, CDC, Medscape, NIH, etc.) I keep myself up to date with healthcare laws.
