I always look for diversity in my workplace, cultural, age, orientation or religious differences can bring a big amount of inspiration.
It’s important because people from different backgrounds have different perspectives and therefore when in a team, can come up with unique solutions to situations presented their way.

You're right that diversity (which can include age, academic differences, gender, disabilities, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, and so on) can enrich one's life because it exposes them to a variety of different perspectives.
