"Last year, I made a recommendation for our office to incorporate a recycling program. We were going through a lot of single-use coffee pods. It bothered me how wasteful it all seemed. I presented a spreadsheet to my supervisor comparing the single-use pods vs. investing in a built-in coffee machine. The savings over two years were significant, and my boss has now presented my idea to our head office. It feels nice to be heard in the workplace, so I continue to keep my eyes out for opportunities for process improvements."

About a year ago I made some recommendations for changes in our work system. Our main office had made a lot of changes, a lot of people told my manager that they were pleased with the outcome.

What kind of recommendations did you make? How were they implemented? Right now your response is very vague. Add specifics and it will become a strong answer!

The first thing that comes to mind is the system we used for collecting files from our participants at the fashion show I mentioned earlier — they were uploading the files themselves on a Google Drive folder, which led to total chaos.
I suggested that everyone should send the files to me first, and after that, I check them and upload them in the folder myself — this way we have a clean Drive with only quality content, and everyone’s life has been so much easier ever since.

Great! The interviewer will appreciate that you took the initiative to improve a process at work. When you say 'total chaos,' what exactly do you mean? Can you give more details about what participants would upload and how disorganized it would be? And in what ways does having a clean and organized drive make things easier for people? The more details you can give, the better!
