"I grew up right around here, and when I was a kid, my uncle was our neighbourhood postie. Sometimes he'd take me along in his truck, and I'd go with him on his route and hand people their mail. So, I have always been a big fan of the Royal Mail, and finding a position with them, at whatever level, feels like the perfect fit for me."

This question is an icebreaker; your interviewer hopes to get you out of interview mode and let your personality shine. How you answer will indicate how personable you are, how well you would represent the Royal Mail to their customers, and whether your interests or hobbies align with the personalities that complement their culture. Highlight interests that align with the job. For example, if you are applying to be a postie, share that you enjoy going for walks or hikes, being outdoors, or having friendly exchanges with those you meet when out and about. If you are applying for a position in their sorting centres, share that you enjoy methodical or organized hobbies. Most importantly, be yourself.

I am a friendly person and always enjoy having a conversation with people. I love to climb and explore and I often take trips to Wales to walk up mountains. I find being outdoors incredibly fulfilling and I feel if given the opportunity this role at royal mail will give me great pleasure.

These are great personal aspects to share with the interviewer! If you can, open up with a brief, high-level overview of your education and experience, then go into the personal aspects. This will help give a well-rounded response and set the stage for the rest of the interview.
