"Well, I trust that the sorting teams are good at what they do. But I would double-check the materials before I start my day, making sure they are sorted efficiently for the work ahead of me. If you are efficient and methodical and have a keen eye, there is nothing wrong with being thorough, as long as it doesn't cost you an unreasonable amount of time or productivity."

"Our Posties and Sorting teams work together to organise and deliver the mail, ensuring that the right letters and parcels get to the right address. The heartbeat of everything we do, they're hands-on, making sure every single letter and parcel reaches the right person as soon as possible. Posties collect the day's deliveries from the sorting office and head out to deliver it to the community, whilst our sorting teams continue to process mail arriving from around the country. It's not always easy. In both jobs, our people are on their feet throughout the day, delivering and moving letters and parcels around the sorting facilities and into people's homes and to local businesses."

The interviewer uses this question to assess how system-oriented your work style is. They are motivated to determine how thorough, consistent, and up to the tasks ahead you'd be in this role. Part of showing how prepared you are for the work ahead is displaying your knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of both posties and sorters.
