HireVue's assessment model has been customized by Nike to find candidates who will be a strong match for the types of leaders they promote. When examining its work culture, you'll find that Nike refers to its leaders and managers as coaches. The role of a coach is to mentor and develop their teams towards a unified goal. Per Nike, "We continually invest in our employees to help them achieve greatness, both at and outside of work. Our goal at Nike is to enable and support our teammates to realize their full potential." Perform adequate research to further identify the kinds of leaders it is trying to recruit. Then, contrast this with what you have to offer, and align yourself accordingly.
Nike describes their model of leadership on its website: "People who can see their potential, and know what they're capable of, do great things. And while achieving individual and collective greatness can be challenging, we know we can do it together. We know that promoting and developing our outstanding teammates is just as important as hiring top talent. If you manage people, you have an even greater responsibility, a special obligation to demonstrate high performance with high integrity. Lead by example. There is no difference between what you do and what you expect from others."

Concerning HireVue's algorithm, your non-verbal cues will almost always be interpreted as your speaker's true feelings, intentions, and attitude, and will likely hold more weight than what you're communicating verbally. When words and statements are incongruent with your tone, facial expressions, or mannerisms, it suggests a lack of self-awareness of one's nonverbal cues as being inconsistent with your narrative. So not only do you want to ensure your answers are consistent throughout your interview, but your performance as well.
"I would say that I have an inspirational leadership style where I put my strong interpersonal skills to work and influence those on my teams to achieve the greatness they are capable of. I coach others to jump over their hurdles, recognize and play off their strengths, while helping coach them through their growth opportunities. I lead by example, and only expect of others what I expect of myself."
