I started my career in city law enforcement, but decided I wanted a change of pace, and desire more regular shifts to spend more time with my spouse and small children. I am a mother of two boys and a fiance- a soon-to-be wife. I am also a proud owner of two properties one of which is our forever home. I have reached all my goals before I turned 30 years old. I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom for the most crucial years of my children's lives and I am finally ready to pursue and chase the dream career that I always wanted. I knew I wanted to work for the CBSA ever since I first started my degree program and that desire has not changed once. I always admired and appreciated people who worked to serve their country. As an immigrant myself who calls Canada my home, I would like to contribute to keeping this country safe. Everyone deserves to feel safe and protected, and ever since becoming a parent this desire inside of me has only grown.

Nice! Your passion for serving your country is evident in your response, which the interviewer will appreciate. Consider changing your answer to either eliminate your mentions of having kids and being a fiance or mention them later in your response. Instead, open with your desire to serve and/or the experience and skills you possess that will allow you to excel in this role. An interviewer shouldn't be focused on your family life; they should be focused on what you have to offer professionally so just keep that in mind! Otherwise, great job!

Ever since I was a young boy, I had been infatuated with the idea of being an officer that protects others. I believe CBSA goes beyond that because they are responsible for the safety of the entire country. I joined security because at the time, I did not have my permanent residence, so working in security was a way for me to be some type of law enforcement.
