While you have likely gone through a pre-screening process among a large pool of candidates to get to the interview stage with Qatar Airways, your interviewer may not have a sense of any of the formal airline training you have had during your career. In asking this question, they are simply looking to hear about any airline-specific training that may not be indicated on your resume or application.

"You can't see on my resume that during my four years of experience with another airline, I have taken many safety and customer service training courses. The safety courses have helped instill a safety-first mindset in all that I do in my work and I would look forward to bringing this mindset to work here at Qatar Airways."

"Although I have not taken specific airline-related training, I do have some current certifications that I believe will be helpful. These include basic lifesaver and first aid training. I have also been trained in effective sales techniques at my current job. As a person that loves to learn and grow in my work, I would be open to any new training and development opportunities if hired at Qatar Airways."

First and foremost, if you are experienced in the airline industry and have been through any specific training for this position at Qatar Airways, talk openly about your training and how it makes you a great candidate for this role. If you do not have any industry-specific training, that is okay. You can certainly talk about any specific training you've had that can help benefit you in this role at Qatar Airways. No matter how you answer, reiterate to your interviewer that you are always ready and willing for training opportunities that will help better you in your career.

I have taken in-house training in baggage and cargo handling procedures, safety, and customer service skills, world tracer, and cargo spot IT systems. Also, I have eight years of industry experience.

Fantastic! You have a variety of training and years of experience. Nicely done. The only way I would recommend you improve upon your answer is by talking openly about your training and how it makes you a great candidate for this role.
I’ve had my share of in-house training, including baggage handling and cargo handling procedures, including a safety course. I took those training classes quite seriously, and still make a habit of doing everything by the book. I’ve worked with so many who have gotten a bit burned out by the repetitive nature of the work, and often they get carried away with conversation on the job, and cut corners of protocol and safety. Not me, I still do everything by the book. I have my own method and practices. My motto is to create work systems that make the right way to do your job the shortcut. If you make the job easier to do the right way, without the need to cut corners and doing the job the wrong way, you’re more efficient without sacrificing your quality of work. Oh, and my customer service skills are off the charts, and I’ve likewise been trained in world tracer and cargo spot IT systems. This training comes with eight years of industry experience. That eight years of learning on the job.
