      How to Answer

The interviewer would like to know if you are capable of taking on more work outside your normal job responsibilities and use higher-level skills. The project you discuss doesn't need to be huge in scope, but be sure to highlight the work you did.

      Kimberly's Answer

"I always have a list of projects to work on, and I enjoy them. I had the opportunity to lead a project designed to create a peer feedback review process. My manager discovered errors in some of the work from our team. I had the idea to have a peer review the work. It took more time but was very helpful in reducing errors. We were able to reduce errors by 90%. My manager was pleased, and the team was happy and proud of the work being done."

      Kimberly's Answer

"Since I'm a new grad, I haven't led any projects at work yet, but when I was a college student, I completed a project for a local health care system where I did an audit of all of their credentialed providers. My goal was to see if I could automate any parts of the process so that the manual checks could be faster. I was able to set up a feed with the state licensing board which eliminated the need for somebody to manually check their license. It was a great project, and I know I added value to them, even as a college student!"
