While there are many different skills that are necessary to be a good Public Relations Manager, the interviewer wants you to pick a few of them and argue that they are the most critical to the job. Make sure that you remind the interviewer that you possess the skills that you choose to discuss.
"I think that, without a doubt, being a strong communicator is the most important skill for this position. Communication is at the heart of the role! A great Public Relations Manager needs to be able to write well so they can create and direct the creation of press releases. They need to be able to speak clearly and build a rapport with all different types of people, whether it's the media, donors, clients, or management. They also need to be able to effectively communicate with their team so they can guide and manage them. This is one reason why I know that I'm cut out for this position. Throughout my life, I have always naturally been an excellent writer and public speaker. Throughout my career, I have gained experience and built these skills. It's what I love to do!"
