Since a Public Relations Manager leads others, it's important to show the interviewer that you are a person of integrity and honesty. Provide an example of a time when you acted with integrity. The more details you can provide, the more memorable your answer will be.
"Within my previous role, I worked for a company that struggled with its reputation at times because of the environmental impact of its products. As its Public Relations Manager, I was in charge of making sure that the company's reputation and image remained intact despite certain instances when the company had clearly errored and damaged the environment. I worked hard to maintain a balance of making sure the public knew about the good the company did and making sure that we didn't gloss over and lie about its environmental impact. Over the years, I encouraged management to make production changes that resulted in a more environmentally conscious company. I always made sure that our marketing and press release language accurately reflected everything, while also preserving and defending the company's image."
