A Public Relations Manager has the ability to devise and improve company procedures that are related to marketing, promotions, fundraising, and communication. The interviewer wants to know that you'll proactively create new processes and update others to make them more efficient and better. Give an example of a time when you previously did this.
"As a Public Relations Manager, I'm always on the lookout for ways to improve how things are done. I don't hesitate to speak up or make suggestions if I believe they are warranted and helpful. Within my last role, I realized that we were missing out on a valuable way to connect with our consumers and the public: by using social media. We had a website in place but at the time didn't actively use social media to communicate with customers and find out their opinions of us. Realizing this, I put a team together that researched and proposed the best social media platforms for us and how we might approach this new communication method. In the end, we established a much quicker way to assess our company's reputation by communicating with our customers via social media. I was glad that I pushed for this development and know that it will continue on at the company into the future."
