The interviewer wants assurance that if hired you will lead the way within their organization when it comes to new PR ideas, strategies, and methods. This question also tests how much you know about their company. Show them that you've done your research and that you have plenty of fresh PR ideas that will benefit their organization.
"Although I think very highly of your company's current public relations department and its strategies, if hired I would definitely come in with new ideas. To start, though, I would spend time learning how your current PR team operates and what methods and tools they use. I wouldn't just barge in and immediately disrupt everything. I would observe current procedures and then, in time, propose improvements. When it comes to brand-new ideas, I'd likely concentrate on how the company can improve its presence both on social media and in the community. I have several ideas about how to do this, including making sure our social media content is relevant and adds value for our customers. I'd also increase the number of community and industry events that the company is involved in."
