When discussing your weakness, you want to remember to be honest about a weakness you have, but not one that would significantly affect your ability to perform your job. You also want to ensure you're always discussing how you're working to improve on this weakness. Also, remember to use a STAR story method anytime you're asked for a specific example (Situation, Task, Action, Result). This tactic helps you to be direct in answering.

"My greatest professional weakness is my difficulty asking for help when I need it. Particularly in roles where I work with a team, I know the importance of relying on that team when I need help, but I have difficulty reaching out. For example, we worked on two extensive rebranding campaigns for two of our biggest clients at my previous job. Both clients had high expectations for the amount of contact and contacted me several times a day via phone and email with additional questions, suggestions, and thoughts. It was agreed early on that any team member could help me with correspondence with clients if I became overwhelmed and I just needed to ask. I began having trouble prioritizing tasks of the project because I was becoming so overwhelmed with handling the contact with the clients. While I did eventually ask for help and my teammates were able to pick up some of the clients' communication, I should have asked for that help earlier on. We still ran two successful rebranding for both companies, but I know I became very close to burning out quickly on the projects. I've since learned that communication is vital, and once I start feeling overwhelmed, it's important to ask my supervisor and teammates for assistance to ensure projects are running smoothly. It's still a work in progress for me, and I think I've improved on it, but I know I need to be aware of every day in my work. "
