When asked about what you would focus on learning, think both tangibly and abstractly. Don't forget small details like learning who key individuals and team members are, what quarterly goals may be, and what projects need your focus. They may seem like obvious answers, but often companies want to ensure you are going to be thorough and take the initiative to learn everything you need from your 1st day and after.

"In my 1st month as Brand Manager for (insert company name), I'd focus on several things. Within my first week, I'd want to learn who my teammates are, what our current brand marketing campaigns are, and what the biggest projects are that will require my attention and focus. I'd also, within the 1st few weeks, want to sit down after learning more about current marketing campaigns and draft a 30-60-90 day plan, if one does not already exist, to discuss my ideas and thoughts on how to approach current projects and ensure my ideas are aligned with what initiatives are already in place. I'd also want to ensure I learned key players and individuals within the company and key points of contact for clients. I'd also make it a priority to frequently communicate with my supervisor in weekly meetings if at all possible to ensure I am continually learning necessary information within my 1st month."
