This question is aimed at helping them determine whether your behaviors would align with their code of conduct. How you answer will potentially inform them of whether you would be an asset or a liability. According to Boeing's code of ethical conduct, they expect every employee to make the same commitment, "In everything we do and in all aspects of our business, we will make safety our top priority, strive for first-time quality, hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards, and continue to support a sustainable future. I will prioritize safety, quality, and integrity above profit, schedule, or competitive edge. If I see something that raises a safety concern, I will speak up immediately."
Look up their code of conduct and their compliance and ethics statements online, which can be found in pdf form with a simple search. "At Boeing, our goal for employee safety is as clear and simple as our workplace safety program's name: Go for Zero - One Day at a Time. We aim to achieve this goal day by day by eliminating all workplace injuries and ensuring an environment where all employees go home in the same shape they came to work. Our Safety Guiding Principles outline the meaning of zero injuries and demonstrate Boeing's commitment to driving safety for all employees, one day at a time."
All candidates applying to a position will receive the same set of questions, selected by the hiring company when building out their interview on HireVue's platform. HireVue prevents candidates from seeing these interview questions beforehand. "This ensures that each candidate has the same amount of time to review the questions, and prepare their responses, giving all candidates the same interview experience and an equal shot at putting their best foot forward." HireVue does, however, offer practice questions on its website to prepare candidates for the process. "While virtual interviewing isn't difficult, a little practice can help you prepare. Most on-demand interviews ask you to give your answer in just a few minutes. It's helpful to think about how you will illustrate your skills clearly in that timeframe, and to practice them out loud."
While these practice questions won't directly apply to Boeing, it's still a useful exercise to make yourself more comfortable with this type of interview. It's useful for practicing delivering your answers within the allotted three-minute timeframe. Once you've tried out HireVue's practice questions, come back to this MockQuestions set, and spend ample time practicing using this interview set. Set your timer for three minutes, and practice answering each question out loud while recording yourself on your computer.
"I would have a word with them, and warn them of the consequences of their unsafe actions. I would express that I needed them to be safe because I care. And, if I got through to them, and they promised they wouldn't repeat the transgression, I would inform my leaders and tell them of the outcome. If the person didn't take my request seriously, and they were likely to repeat the behavior, I would inform my leadership of that, and advise that they address the matter as well."
