"I worked on a team to solve a problem with a project that could affect our ability to reach our individual goals. They tasked each person on the team with a different aspect of our project, such as gathering and analyzing data. We came together to discuss the results but couldn't seem to agree. Part of the problem was how everyone was competing to talk and struggling to listen to each person's opinions. I explained my observation and suggested we give each person a chance to discuss their findings and opinions, which helped us take a more collaborative approach."

"My current company recently went through a merger, which caused a lack of communication between our teams because people were flooded with thoughts of job insecurity. I suggested to my department head that we have a team-building event where we'd examine the outlook of the merger and how it would impact our departments. Gathering everyone to remind them that we are still a team was beneficial in getting everyone to calm and gain a broader perspective of the big picture."
