How do you stay current on public policy, regulation, and the latest trending news?
This question not only aims to assess your experience and ambition but your familiarity with the resources and reputation RSM has to offer its clients. A representative of their company will be expected to offer their clients their services, such as the latest news from RSM, passing on information about RSM's upcoming or past events, where they offer ideas and observations to help advance their client's businesses, or upcoming webcasts, virtual and in-person events, or in what ways RSM has been "actively engaged on Capitol Hill and elsewhere to ensure the voice of the middle market is heard amid the D.C. shuffle."
The assessment vendor will study your performance, so be transparent and honest. Never try to fake your way through a question. They'll likely analyze your verbal cues and be able to identify if you're exaggerating or not being completely honest. There are many tells that people aren't conscious of, such as repeating a question before answering, speaking in sentence fragments, displaying a change in speech pattern, irregular speech, and rising and falling tone. When your words don't match your gestures, your gestures will reveal the truth. Maintain eye contact and confident body language, be comfortable, and speak from the heart.
A good exercise for preparing for any interview is to make lists of everything you do as a professional. Not only every aspect of your job, every skill acquired, and every responsibility you've been entrusted with. But also how you stay informed, ahead of the game, and ensure you remain a trusted source of information for your clients and peers - everything you can think of that defines you as a professional.
