How do you build trust with those you work with?
Many of the questions you can expect in an interview are carefully worded to reflect their core values and company culture. So take time to consider how the language they use can guide your answer. For example, this question centers on trust and relationship building. Research the company, and you'll find that their model of trust is centered around making progress and being results-driven, thereby following through on their commitments. They focus on empathy, working together, taking time to understand each other's needs, and caring.
PwC offers the following advice to their candidates: "We would always recommend you start to prepare well in advance. A good place to start in all instances is to begin to understand the topics which will be discussed in your interview and to think about how your experiences, skills, and knowledge relate to these."
Consider how their company culture statements can guide your answer: "Our purpose, to build trust in society and solve important problems, is at the core of everything we do. Building trust for today and tomorrow. While we draw upon our 160-year history, our commitment for the future is clear. Striving to consistently deliver innovative work that builds trust and delivers sustained outcomes. Our community of solvers are doubling down to build on our progress, and our purpose. We're advancing against our aspirations and how together with our people, our clients, nonprofits and coalitions of our peers, we've navigated unprecedented times with care, understanding, empathy and trust."
HireVue advertises that "Your interview video will be analyzed by an assessment model (also called an algorithm). HireVue Assessments take the place of the same kinds of things that a recruiter or hiring manager would be looking for in a candidate for the job you're applying for."
PwC offers the following advice for setting up for your assessment interview, "Allow some time before the interview start time to enter the virtual interview room and check that the webcam, sound and lighting is suitable for your interview before it begins. Close any unnecessary browsers or applications that may notify you and distract you on your device during your interview. Have a glass of water ready next to you if you need it during the interview. Ensure you are in a quiet room or area, well lit and free of distractions."
"I am a firm believer that trust is earned. I would begin by taking advantage of every learning opportunity, learning about each other, learning what others are willing to share regarding their wisdom and knowledge, and proceeding with humility and empathy. Also, actions speak louder than words. So I would follow through on my commitments, take responsibility for my actions, and prove myself as a reliable member of the team and a trusted resource of accurate and up-to-date information."
