Interview questions about product launches are not just a test of your product management skills but can also be thought of as product marketing questions. You are not just developing a product, but you are planning for the launch, how your product fits the market, and how to maximize the reach of the product.

To answer this question, you need to demonstrate your creativity, your thoughts on an appropriate marketing strategy, and how to bring them all together into one cohesive campaign. Ask questions about the product before answering this question. Focus on coming up with something unique and fresh to make you stand out from the other candidates, but don't neglect to mention core marketing tactics. To answer a product launch question, you must have your concepts clear and offer a brief, step-by-step description of how you would market and launch the new product.

"I would start by learning all that I can about the product by interviewing the product development team. That would help me determine the marketing team members needed to strategize and launch the product. Next, I would organize an early brainstorming session with designers and the marketing team to define the project's goals, such as creating awareness or grabbing market share. The brainstorming session would allow us to talk about potential strategies to accomplish the product launch. Next would be the pre-launch phase where we identify and create partnerships with other brands or products that can be introduced during the launch. During the launch phase, we would kickstart the launch conference, launch the product, and start advertising on all major channels. Finally, the post-launch phase is time to measure some metrics related to our goals and also do a post-mortem on the launch's success. We would measure the number of units sold and evaluate the overall success of the launch."
