Stress can often be a regular part of the day-to-day work experience as a border patrol officer. Talk to the interviewer about which areas of your career are the most stressful. Ensure that your answer does not include a factor that would make you appear unfit for the position (ie, a border patrol officer should not find paperwork the most stressful part of the job).

"The part of my career in border patrol that brings me the most stress is when team productivity is behind due to lack of hustle on my team's part. I like to be on time with my schedule and casework."

"I probably bring myself the most stress because of my drive and desire to be and do the best I can. I manage this by focusing my energy on productive activities that are good for my career."

"Border patrol is an overall stressful career. I believe that the most stressful part of the career comes from the unknown. You don't know who you will come across every day or the type of danger to which you will be exposed. Although this is stressful, it's also what keeps me on my toes and interested in this career path. I could never work an office job again!"

Focus on briefly describing what brings you the most stress as a border patrol officer. Then, end on a positive note, showing the interviewer that although your job is stressful, you would not choose another profession.

What stresses me the most is what I believe is the fastest growing threat to the agency. It is the politicization of various facets of federal law enforcement. This is not new, but having to navigate a political atmosphere gives me pause; however, I do not lose sleep thinking about it.

This is an interesting response that shows your depth of education/knowledge as well as your level of engagement in your industry. Very solid answer.

I believe that the part that would bring me the most stress is a toxic leader.

Rachelle's Feedback
A toxic leader can bring immense amounts of stress. In your opinion, what defines a toxic leader? Have you ever had a toxic leader? These are all points available to you, to expand the response.

I consider stress to be a regular part of a day-to-day workload in any given job. I personally tend to cause my own stress because of my drive & desire to be extremely organized. I simply function better that way & feel more accomplished at the end of the workday.

So, in other words, you thrive on stress? If so, consider stating that directly. Some people are able to reframe stress as a positive instead of a negative. If you can do this, you might be perfectly cut out for this position. Also, if you can think of an example when you successfully navigated a stressful situation, definitely consider mentioning it here.
