"I am always interested in learning more about this industry and the changes taking place. It's truly fascinating how the law can change, and I like reading about different case studies. Most frequently, I read the 'Police Journal.' There are also a couple of blogs that I follow, including 'Just a Cop' by Brian Cain."

"While attending school to be a border patrol officer, I received a few resources from the professors that I quite enjoy. Two podcasts I follow are The Border Patrol and The Greenline, which are quite informative. I also have Google alerts set up so that any changes in the industry are sent straight to my email inbox."

I frequently use online resources with "Police One" and "Corrections One." These are good for remaining current on technical issues. All too often, I find that much law enforcement news is available in regular popular press sources. This normally transpires from a use of force that is mischaracterized or over-publicized.

Rachelle's Feedback
It's great that you use resources aside from the general news, showing your interest in learning from reputable industry-rich sources.

I would stay up to date on law enforcement events through reading about anything law enforcement related that would keep me informed and up to date on the latest issues.

Rachelle's Feedback
You sound very eager to be in-the-know. If you are aware of the most reputable resources available to you, it may be nice to include mention of them specifically (i.e., law enforcement journals, etc.).

I normally use online resources. I have alerts on my phone that will automatically notify me of the most recent local news about the career, for instance just this week I read articles about the two recent shootings that happened along the border which took aim at an agent patrolling the area. The gunshots were said to come from the Mexican side of the border but thankfully no BPA was injured in either of the incidents.
Marcie's Feedback
This is a good response! You might mention other resources that you use to follow law enforcement-related current events like blogs, social media, magazines, conferences, and networking. The example you provide is great because it shows that you really do make an effort to stay up on current events. Great job!
