The interviewer wants to learn more about any relevant background and experience you have. If you have experience in the industry, start by giving the interviewer a high-level overview by sharing where you have worked, your job title, and how long you were employed there. Add a sentence or two about what your job duties were in each role and how you performed. Be sure to mention your interest in the industry and that you look forward to continuing to work in food industry roles.

If you don't have any experience in the food industry, that's okay! Tell the interviewer that while your experience in the industry is limited, you look forward to making the transition and learning everything there is to know. While having some experience is preferable to none, many hiring managers will care more about how hard you'll work and your eagerness to learn than your direct experience.
