If the position you are applying for is management-related, chances are you will have some input into strategic planning and having to prepare a budget. The interviewer would like to know more about your exposure to the financial side of the hotel business. If you have experience in strategic planning and budgeting, outline this for the hiring manager, including the size of the budget with which you have experience. If you do not have experience with budgeting or financial plans, think back to what you may have learned during your post-secondary education.
