Frito Lay takes attendance and punctuality very seriously and needs to ensure anyone they hire is willing to put in the hard work, will be ready to work on time when scheduled, and will respect their teams seriously while making efforts to ensure everything operates as smoothly as possible. Remember, you are a part of a much larger operation. If you are running behind, you could slow down production. So prepare to answer this question by showcasing how well you manage your time, how you ensure you show up to work on time, and how well you coordinate and communicate with your leaders and your teams. Give an example that will show Frito Lay that you plan and take a proactive approach to these types of situations.

"I always arrive to work at least 15 minutes before I am expected to be there to give myself extra time in case something happens. I also make sure I have the numbers of my co-workers and boss so that I can call to let them know if I'm stuck or might be running late."

"I was raised to be early at all times. I am well-scheduled and understand the negative impact that my tardiness can cause. If I am to be late, I call my manager or whoever will be affected by the situation. I will also put in extra hours when necessary."

Frito Lay advertises that they take the health and welfare of their employees very seriously. In several of the testimonials in the videos on their website, their employees praise the company's benefits. They even advertise that there is no waiting for the benefits to kick in and that they are available to their employees from day one. This includes paid vacations plus 10 paid holidays.
Yet when exploring Frito Lay's policy towards sick days, many of their job postings state that they expect their employees to have a strong work ethic. "You are punctual and reliable in terms of attendance, you accurately record your time." Taking a look at some of their employee reviews, one former employee states that "Full-time workers have around 6 to 8 sick days, while part-time workers have none. Each call out, no matter how far in advance, gives you a 'point,' and if you accumulate 6 'points' it can provide grounds to get fired. Each point expires 365 days from the day it was incurred."
