Cleveland Clinic is a multi-specialty academic hospital focused on care, research, and health education. The interviewer wants to know the areas of healthcare that bring passion to you. Think of a particular issue that you would carry more public awareness to. You might have a relative with early-onset Alzheimer's disease, and you would like to see more public attention. Or, you may have treated a patient with a rare condition that has never been made publicly aware. Describe which healthcare issue you are passionate about and why.

"There are so many healthcare issues that I am passionate about, but if I could choose one, I wish the general public were more aware of the signs and dangers of undiagnosed childhood diabetes. I have seen so many patients with diabetes who may have avoided this condition with better education and prevention methods."

"This is a very tough question as there are so many underfunded and worthy healthcare issues. I will go with one of my most extensive areas of interest and research. If I could increase public awareness of any healthcare-related issue, I would choose pancreatic cancer. I realize cancer does receive much attention; however, pancreatic cancer does not. This year, over 53,000 people in the USA will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and nearly 80% will die from the disease - both men and women. I believe with better education and understanding of the disease; many lives could be saved before it is too late."
