I think engineering principles, project management, and business principles apply universally. I have fairly advanced Excel skills, I can give a strong presentation, can perform risk assessments, and am comfortable making decisions without all available information.
Also, I've been in the basic, commodity, or mineral processing industries for my entire career so I do have an idea of the scale and the competitiveness of these industries. I'm also familiar with many of the provincial stakeholders who help to successfully deliver projects.
