This question gauges how actively you inform yourself of developments in your industry. From evolving technologies to automation, to trends or developments with restructuring, restaffing, rebranding or outsourcing, this question aims to answer how in charge of your own development you truly are. How you answer will inform them of how competitive an employee you'll be, and whether you actively anticipate and adapt to any changes which could potentially impact your profession, or whether you take your position for granted, which puts the relevance of your skills at risk.

Rachelle's Feedback
This is a great start! Could you elaborate on which magazines, and the names of the forums? The interviewer will be looking for details to know that you lean on reputable resources for your information.

I keep watch from capital market analysis. I like to try and stay in touch with local professionals and am a member of CIM's Saskatoon chapter as well as APEGS. As I'm coming from outside of the industry I have tended to keep track of oil markets and now automation trends through publications but I imagine I would pay more attention to publications like miningmagazin.com
Marcie's Feedback
This is a good response! It's great that you network with industry professionals, and the interviewer will appreciate that you mention an industry publication by name. Do you plan to attend industry conferences/webinars or take online courses in the future? Do you pay attention to social media? Watch the company's competitors? Read interviews by industry leaders?
Prepare for technical and behavioral questions from global mining leaders.
