The interviewer wants to see that you are self-aware and understand the type of manager, of the five main leadership types, brings out the best in you: authoritarian, participative, delegative, transactional, and transformational. Some individuals prefer a close working relationship with an authoritarian who provides a lot of accountability, while others prefer a transformational leader who offers trust, space, and autonomy. If you are unsure of the management style at BHP, perform adequate research to identify the type of leadership culture they aim to foster.

I like to have input on business decisions and feel responsible for implementing decisions as they contributed to making them. But also, a level of trust that I should use my discretion to make decisions and occasional coaching tips and feedback that can help me to reflect and improve my performance.
