Tell me about a time you helped drive the success of someone on your team.

"I love coaching and helping out my teammates any chance I get. Having built this open and trusting relationship with them, they are never shy to repay the favor and offer suggestions that help me perform better. Recently, one teammate I work with is often shy in presenting ideas to management, and as a result, they have difficulty finding their voice. So, when for the fifth time they asked me to present an idea on their behalf, I refused but offered to coach them on their presentation skills instead. So we sat down together for lunch, where I offered them encouragement and ideas to help them feel comfortable, structure their suggestions, and bolster their confidence. At the end of their shift, they thanked me for my advice, and they've only improved since."

When answering behavioral questions such as these, Maersk suggests you "include details of your project timeline, who you led, or what you had to teach yourself in order for the project to be successful." They also describe their model of leadership in the following statement, "Lead by example, foster trust through engagement and empowerment, listen to and consider everyone's views before starting work. We learn from each other to grow our culture. We lead with care. Our leaders engage, listen and respond to the frontline. Our employees are the experts."
