Your interviewer is curious whether you have any relevant experience of working for a global company, and how adaptable you would be to communicating with others from other cultures across a variety of other time zones. Additionally, the hiring authority will be evaluating your work performance standard by how thoroughly you seem to have prepared for the interview and how familiar you are with the company, from their culture, values, work environment, global reach, and operations.
"In my current position, I collaborate with our offices in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, and Finland. I am so used to this that I bought a vintage four-faced clock on eBay where you can adjust each clock face to a different time, and I labeled each one with the country whose time zone it reflects. I enjoy hearing from the friendly voices at each office and hearing about what is going on in their part of the world. I've traveled to each office once as well, and it was great meeting each one of them in person."
