"We recently had a major inventory count coming up, and right before our manager got a highly contagious respiratory illness. I knew right away there was no backup to take the lead, so I dove straight into it and started preparations. Once I knew we were set up for greater success, I called back our manager and asked for some basic instructions over the phone, and followed up with very few questions from there. I led the rest of my co-workers through the project, taught myself the tracking software in a short time, and created a roster of duties so everyone knew what was expected of them. We completed the project three hours ahead of schedule, and our numbers were right on target."
