"Our target audience was young parents. The company was a 7-year-old startup, and we were losing a lot of repeat clients as their children grew up. This compromised our budget. I pulled all our underperforming print ads. We tested advertising in local blogs, but those ad dollars weren't providing us with the ROI we were hoping for. After a short run, we pulled those ads and gathered data on local schools with AP programs and after-school programs. We then donated gift certificates for our services to their auctions. We authored content covering these auctions and sent them to the local blogs. This strategy was a success, and we came in under budget with a higher ROI than the previous model."

Giving an example of a time you pulled funds from other departments should be avoided. Only offer examples that exhibit resourcefulness and working under pressure with what you have.
