Music therapists must display competence on several musical instruments: voice, piano, guitar, and percussion. In addition to those four key instruments, Music therapists also must have a primary, or major, instrument they play. The interviewer wants to hear what instrument you have as your major instrument to determine what abilities you will bring to their organization if hired.
