There are a variety of things music therapists can do to improve themselves in their careers. There are annual conferences, publications, journals, online news, forums, and courses you can take to improve yourself as a music therapist. The interviewer wants to hear if you take the initiative to better yourself and how you have done that in the past year.

"I have done several things to better myself in the past year. I attended the American Music Therapy Association virtual conference in October, where I learned about various topics that I can apply to my practice. I also subscribe to the Journal of Music Therapy, where I stay up-to-date on the latest research and music theories. Last December, I took drumming lessons to improve my drumming skills and learned how to play the harmonica."
