Advice and answer examples written specifically for an Admissions Officer job interview.
8. Would you be comfortable giving tours of our school to prospective students?
How to Answer
Be sure to check the job description to see all that this new role requires. If it mentions leading tours, be prepared to say that you are willing to take on that duty. Feel free to share any similar experience, even in sales, as you will be 'selling' the school you're representing to prospective students. Share that with proper training, you would feel comfortable and excited to lead tours as part of your duties as an admissions officer.

Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
If leading tours is a large part of this role, the interviewer will want to know that it is something you would be interested in and excited about. Not everyone would be comfortable and confident speaking in front of a group of people, so they want to ensure this would be a good fit for you. If this is something you would enjoy, be sure to communicate your enthusiasm. If this does not appeal to you, be sure to communicate that you would need to receive training but would be up for the task.

Answer Example
"As long as I am adequately trained, I think I'd enjoy giving tours. I would find it interesting to highlight the various talking points of the school and introduce families to what makes the school unique."
