Why the Interviewer Asks This Question
Part of your role will be speaking directly with students and their families, so the right candidate will need to have the skills to communicate appropriately. At times, difficult news will need to be delivered tactfully and carefully. The interviewer wants to be sure you can do just that. Share your ability to face discomfort head-on and lead students and families through tough conversations when need be.

Answer Example
"I am a strong communicator and thoughtful about how I go about holding difficult conversations. Students deserve to know the truth, but how the truth is communicated is important. I strive to be positive and gentle, and I offer my advice if it seems appropriate. I consider how I can build students up, even while delivering difficult news."
