Hopefully, I would have some type of bench strength to fill that shift. If that wasn't a possibility I would get the master customer list for that area and start calling each customer to secure their order for the next delivery.

It's always challenging when a co-worker doesn't show up for their shift, but it comes with the territory. If this type of situation occurs, I dive in to help as much as possible. If I'm able to stay late, cover for my co-worker, or take on extra work, I will do so. If I've taken on a bit too much and I need extra support, I do a good job of communicating that to my manager.
