How do you like to be recognized for your accomplishments?

The interviewer asks this question to determine what incentivizes you to perform at your best. Not only are they interested to know how realistic your expectations are and if they can meet your needs, but they are also interested to know if you are pursuing this opportunity for the money or if you have other reasons for wanting to work for them.

"I am an over-achiever and find that the best way to be recognized for a job well done is through words of kindness and recognition. I am easily encouraged, and the best reward is to know that my hard work is noticed."

"As a sales professional, I am driven by a challenge with a financial perk. Sales contests, for example, are a great way to motivate me."

I appreciate knowing that I am valued at work and that my contributions make a difference to the company. While I don't necessarily require a lot of verbal praise or affirmation. I do appreciate being recognized for my accomplishments financially, so a bonus or a raise is always my preference.
