I asked how they used their credit card most months, what their biggest concern was, and what they could afford, among other questions. Identifying a product that better suited their needs, I downgraded this customer to a simpler credit card with no frills, a lower annual rate, and a 3% lower interest rate. The customer was thrilled and thanked me."

"I received a customer service call from a client who was upset about their credit card's sub-prime interest rate. I carefully explained that when they initially qualified many years ago, their card came with a locked-in subprime interest rate. After educating them, I validated their concerns and expressed I'd help in any way I could. I offered to perform a new credit check. The customer agreed. It turned out their credit score increased over the last five years. Therefore, I was able to offer the customer a much better credit card product with lower interest and an enhanced rewards program. They were elated, and that felt great!"
