When talking to your interviewer about how you think you would fit in with the team at IKEA, you want to convince them that you know who they are looking for and how you fit that mold. By going above and beyond in researching the company, you'll be giving them a glimpse of your above-and-beyond work ethic, revealing you are ever more than an ideal candidate.

"I appreciate what the IKEA website has to say about what they're looking for in coworkers: I'm a challenger by nature, and I think there is room for improvement in most situations, so it makes me feel good to know that that's a quality that IKEA is looking for in its coworkers. My friends describe me as 'no-nonsense' -- I'm honest, sometimes blunt, but always kind. I'm also a big, friendly goofball who loves interacting with new people and lightening up a workplace with positive, enthusiastic energy."

"One of my personal values and challenges I set for myself is to learn something new every single day, whether that's an aspect of my work I haven't explored, a fact about a coworker, or trying out a new skill. I always take time to reflect on what I've learned at the end of the day -- I think that makes me a better coworker and a better leader. I love to help people, so I'm looking for a job and a career where I can see my impact, big or small, on others' lives. I'm also really down to earth; I have a big imagination, but I'm grounded in reality while I'm at work. I like to be efficient and useful."

On their careers page, you can see they want individuals who are down-to-earth and genuine. So examine yourself, be confident in what makes you uniquely you, and celebrate and share it. Be yourself. As they say in their key value of simplicity, "It is about being ourselves and staying close to reality. What's so unique about you makes IKEA better and adds a new dimension to everything we do. That's why we recruit and welcome a wide diversity of people because a great mix of minds, talents, and unique personalities not only makes us stronger, wiser, and better, it's also the best reflection of our customers worldwide. After all, our IKEA vision is to 'create a better everyday life for the many people.' Everyone can contribute. 'A simple, straightforward, and down-to-earth way of being is a part of our heritage. We believe in people and respect each other regardless of position, gender, or background. Be different with meaning. Dare to be different. Try something new. Ask not only Why? and Why not? but also What if?"

I love interacting with people, whether they are managers, co-workers, or customers. It energizes me, and I guess I'm a people person. I have a passion for all things design, from interiors and furniture to art. I love how design can solve everyday problems and how great design can genuinely make people happy. As a visual person, I enjoy the challenge of listening to people's design problems and finding the best solution together. It's a very rewarding feeling.
