Every hotel chain has a responsibility to provide a safe and secure place for guests to reside in. The interviewer needs to know that you uphold this trust, and will be appropriately responsive to unsafe conditions. Reassure the hiring manager that you are proactive about maintaining a safe environment for both your employees and your guests.

"I know that part of my responsibility will be to watch out for unsafe conditions. For example, If I found a place with water on the floor, I would try to correct it immediately, even if it meant mopping it myself. I would warn guests nearby and put out appropriate signage. I believe that I have a moral responsibility as a person to keep an accident from happening, and a legal one to protect the hotel from a potential lawsuit."
