Hotels have multiple departments including Housekeeping, Front Desk, Food and Beverage just to name a few. The interviewer knows that you will be required to work with employees and supervisors from other departments on a daily basis. The hiring manager needs to know that you can get along with others, put any departmental agendas aside and meet the needs of the guest. Reassure the interviewer that you recognize the importance of working well with others. Talk to the interviewer about the experience you have working cross-departmentally. If possible, give an example of how you diverted a crisis or gave excellent customer service, by actively collaborating with the team members of another department.
