The interviewer is curious whether you are passionate about what you do and interested in learning what drives your ambition for your career. But, they are also interested in learning your standard for your quality of work. Someone who puts their all in consistently is more likely to go above and beyond and over-achieve. Someone who goes the extra mile now and again will more likely cruise along with the status quo and simply meet expectations. While there is not necessarily anything wrong with getting by and adequately doing your job, the answer to this question lies in how you align with their brand on innovation.
